FALL 2021 is here. Leaves will be changing colors and dropping as we grab rakes and blowers to gather those endless leaves. This is a beautiful time of year and a great time to enjoy the beautiful grounds at Keeneland. Time to decorate for Halloween and get ready for Treat or Treaters at the end of the month.
October 8-30 KEENELAND. No racing on Mondays and Tuesdays. Gates open at 11 a.m. and first post is 1 p.m. Buy tickets online at tickets.keeneland.com.
October 9, Saturday, Trash Disposal Day from 6 am to 1 pm at Bluegrass Regional Transfer Station 1505 Old Frankfort Pike. Drop off bagged household waste and up to 4 tires off the rims. No hazardous waste. Waste includes mattresses and box springs, small household furniture and household waste.
Oct 9, Saturday, Introduction to Canoeing at Jacobson Park from 3 to 5 pm. Cost $5. Class begins with discussion on water safety, features of the canoe, proper paddling techniques, and how to maneuver a canoe. Participants will then paddle around Jacobson Lake in canoes.

October 23, Saturday, Household Hazardous Waste Disposal from 8:30 to 3 pm at Old Landfill Pad at 1631 Old Frankfort Pike. Here is your chance to get rid of hazardous wastes, including aerosol can, antifreeze, batteries, caulking, fertilizers, gasoline, insecticides, mercury, mineral spirits, mothballs, motor oil, paint, and varnishes.
